2013.03.06Flying Saucer Championship on the Leap Motion newsletter
Whether it be good or bad for it, my games are yet to be discovered by the world.
Hence, when someone talks about something I made, I like to celebrate with a post there :)
Today Flying Saucer Championship appeared in the Leap Motion Developer newsletter:
Retro gaming meets sci-fi motion-control technology. Flying Saucer Championship, labe-me’s latest creation, is a flying saucer race that you can play from your browser. Warning: you may lose several hours of your life playing this game.
Short and strait to the fun!
After testing the game a little bit more with a game-pad and the keyboard, I decided that the game will be dedicated to the Leap Motion controller and won't have any extra controller scheme.
A great part of the fun resides in controlling the saucer with the finger and learning how to do it well (ie: improving this very special skill).
Doing it with a game-pad would require me to create a totally different game-play to keep the control skill interesting.
I may try the mouse scheme in the future which could give some interesting feeling too…
Anyway, I think I will work on another race game later this year, this time with competitors!
As far as Flying Saucer Championship is concerned, a ranking table is planed and an Improved version may be delivered to the Leap Motion application store (Airspace) in May or June.
